Literature Festival to Go to Four Cities

The fourth Istanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival will take place in four cities, with the theme “City and Fear.” Oct. 1-4 the festival will be based in Istanbul, and Oct. 4-7 it will move to Ankara, İzmir and Hatay provinces. 

Attracting a lot of attention at the fetsival will be Ned Beauman, who won the U.K. Writers’ Guild Award for his first novel “Boxer Beetle.” Louis de Bernieres, known for his novel “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin,” Sophie Smiley, Guy Bass, Colombian author Juan Gabriel Vasquez, Jewish author Etgar Keret and Afghan author and director Atiq Rahimi will participate in the festival.
